Bloemfontein Celtic and Free State Stars will be facing each other on Saturday (14 April 2018) in an 18h00 kick-Off clash. A tale of acrimonious atmosphere whenever these two football antagonists meet was long written during the era of players like Jimmy Kauleza and Hleza Mofedi (Free State Stars), Timothy Batabaire and Darryl Smith (Bloemfontein Celtic) to mention just a few.

Goble Park Stadium, situated in Bethlehem has been turned into a fortress by the exciting Stars’ class of 2017/2018 and on the contrary Celtic has a disastrous away record this season. However, this game will be a gritty contest where both teams fight for more than just three points but for pride.

“Our foremost challenge especially during the second-term of the season has been missing even the easiest of chances,” lamented Celtic winger Deon Hotto. “Another problem is that we tend to concede unnecessary goals sometimes at crucial stages of the game meaning we need a psychological revamp and zeal to convert and subsequently defend resolutely.”

Hotto agreed that facing Stars always brings some spirt of enthusiasm because of the magnitude of the game and said it will be great for Celtic to win the game for their fans. “To us, this is one of the biggest games and the spirit has been amazing this week. Our technical team has prepared us appropriately. Looking at how we all committed ourselves at training, I am confident that we will come tops Saturday night” concluded the Namibian international.
