“I always admired how he never judged or forced his opinions on anyone, but offered valuable and truthful advice. His loss is a void that can’t be filled with a quick-fix,” remarked the Bloemfontein Celtic CEO, Khumbulani Konco, referring to inconceivable loss of Dan Leboa, who passed on Friday the 13th of October.

He shared memories about their relationship and said, “Conspicuous in my mind will be his forever steadfast and frank way of dealing with issues, constantly guiding us to earnestly serve the game and the National Soccer League with aplomb. I was natured by this noble man of integrity; he never ceased advising me whenever we met.”

Indeed Bra Dan, as he was popularly known, was an astute character having served football since 1972 during the days of NPSL and played a pivotal role in the formation of both NSL and PSL.

Konco concluded, “I will forever cherish his teachings, love and ability to educate us about football and life. For me, he is a mentor that contributed towards my growth as a person. My sympathies to his family and entire football fraternity, we have lost an icon but it is our duty to keep his legacy alive.”

The Funeral Service of Mr Leboa will be at the Nasrec Cemetery as follows:
