An interesting fixture is looming at Harry Gwala Stadium this Saturday (27th May 2017) in a PSL league encounter between the hosts Maritzburg United and Bloemfontein Celtic which will be a titanic clash. The home team is expected to chivalrously fight for three points to try and secure their Top-eight spot while the visitors will be menacing in their approach, fighting for survival.

Celtic CEO Khumbulani Konco optimistically spoke about surviving the chop and subsequently thanked the sponsors, associates and supporters of the team for their immense support during the season he termed ‘turbulent. “One has to be honest, we had a stormy season. We lost games inexplicably, especially some of the crucial games we played at home. It was a strenuous season for the entire Celtic family, looking at how we stagnantly remained at the bottom-half of the log”.

“Obviously our last game will be a decider and our players will be focusing more on their game against Martizburg than what will be happening with the other games. Preparations for the next season will start immediately after our game; we will go through introspection and also avoid finding ourselves in such a stressful situation.”

“Lastly, the support we got from all our partners has been marvellous, we are grateful of their sincere support. The immeasurable backing from the supporters compounded by the magnificent courage has inspired even the players to remain positive during difficult times. We urge the supporters to continue supporting the team and never lose hope,” concluded Konco.
