Diski derby weekend

All East Rand roads lead to Vosloorus Stadium for the Multichoice Diski Derby Festival. Bloemfontein Celtic reserves will be part of the soccer spectacular that will involve other five teams battling it out for three points.

Bragging rights and age-old animosities will be rekindled when the Mangaung based side faces Free State Stars reserves in a game that will allow Celtic the opportunity to increase its chances of being at the summit of the league table. However, games of this magnitude have proven to be unpredictable and will need a well-oiled Siwelele machine to annex maximum points.

Speaking about the game Coach Abram “Wire” Nteo was optimistic and highlighted important aspects of their preparations. “This week the weather was unbearably hot and somehow affected our preparations but that is not an excuse. Our major focus was on rectifying mistakes committed during our last game and subsequently implementing strategies required for this game. I must concede the boys responded terrifically well.”

“The constructive attitude and strong mental fitness displayed recently by our players gives us the urge above our opponents. Perhaps our minor concern will be failing to score sufficientgoals but the positive thing is that we are able to reach the final-third constantly. We are in a mission not to lose focus and eventually becoming champions and winning such significant encounters is paramount,” he concluded.

This gigantic clash of titans to be held this Sunday (18th November) and will kick off at 12h00
