ES Setif will lock horns with Wydad Casablanca in a 2018 Caf Champions League quarterfinals first-leg encounter at the Stade du 8-Mai-1945 in Algeria on Friday.

Kick-off is at 9pm CAT.

The Black Eagles booked their place in the last eight after finishing second in Group B having collected eight points from six games.

They have a decent home record in this year's Champions League, having won three games, drawn one and lost one.

El Habib Bouguelmouna has had a good tournament for the Algerian side, having netted three times in the group stage.

The marksman will be looking to score against Wydad and help the two-time Champions League winners secure an important victory at home.

Setif head coach Rachid Taoussi is expecting a difficult game against a fellow North African side.

"It will be a difficult derby for both teams. We do not fear this team from Wydad," Taoussi, who is a former Wydad head coach, told Liberte Algeria.

"For us, the most important thing is to try to prepare well (for the game). We will do our best to qualify for the semifinals of the competition."

Meanwhile, Wydad secured their place in the quarterfinals after finishing at the top of Group C, having collected 12 points from six matches.

The Wydad of Resistance are winless on the road in this year's Champions League, having registered one defeat and three draws.

Mohamed Ounajem was one of Wydad's key players in the group stage - netting twice for the defending champions.

The winger will be keen to continue his good form and inspire the Moroccan giants to victory in Algeria.

Abdelhadi Sektioui, the Wydad caretaker coach, is relishing the prospect of facing Taoussi's side.

"Yes, there are coaches who hide their game (plan) especially when it comes to important and decisive games," he told Competition DZ.

"It may be a war. We know how he (Taoussi) works."

The second-leg encounter will be played in Morocco next weekend.
