Walking through Siwelele Park (Celtic soccer grounds) beaming with self-esteem and glowingly speaking about his wish to see Bloemfontein Celtic achieving greater heights this season, Wandisile Letlabika, shared with us how the knee injury sustained on 2nd of December last year affected him. He also expressed appreciation for the support he got from his teammates, his recovery and his admiration of the Celtic supporters.

“I had a dreadful meniscus injury that kept me out of the game for eight-months now and to be honest it had been a nightmare,” commented Wandisile Letlabika when asked about the injury that kept him out since last year. “You see, watching the team struggling at the back like it happened during the second stanza of the league last season even made my injury worse, I was down and wanted to help the team so much.”

“My rehabilitation went exceptionally well that I must concede,” he continued. “After a scan the doctor advised me to have an operation that was successful and I have fully recovered. What is left is for me to start training with the rest of the guys”.

Letlabika is not baffled by current results his team is achieving citing professionalism and companionship brought by the technical team led by Steve Komphela. “The spirit in the team is the results of the motivation from the coach and also the system we use, that of giving a chance to everyone. Whatever we do, it starts from training hence this jovial mood and desire to work as a unit.”

The obviously delighted central defender wrapped his comments by giving praise to the supporters their immediate and support “Celtic is a family, those among the supporters who have my numbers will always text and call to encourage me. Even through the social networks I read their encouraging messages and for me that is vital. I am m overwhelmed by the support, it really kept me strong during the difficult periods.”
