Bloemfontein Celtic reserves missed the glamorous chance of winning the Multichoice diski shield after being beaten by Kaizer Chiefs by 2-0 last weekend and now, the Free State outfit has the opportunity to at least finish 3rd when facing Golden Arrows on Saturday. This 3rd & 4th place meeting will take place at Makhulong stadium at 12h00.

“This season can simply be summarized as ‘disastrous’,” bemoaned Celtic coach Abram Nteo. “Our mission for both Multichoice Diski and Diski Shield Cup terribly went wrong. It was the season we created so many chances but missed a number of chances and conceded some silly goals in the process,” Nteo confessed.

In the midst of those shortcomings the Celtic mentor believes their team has gained immeasurable experience and hinted that the team will be under revamp in a new season. “We take full responsibility as coaches for our failure however; we are also delighted that the senior team benefited by promoting certain players like Neo Maema, Kabelo Dlamini and host of others who might be signed in the new season. Identifying new players for MDC will be our priority during the off-season, we need some exceptionally talented players and that will be done through trials and visits to some tournaments.”

‘Wire’ as he is popularly known expressed his compliments to the management citing absolute support and vision to follow as a brand. “Our fantastic relationship with management gave us the guts to sometimes take risks knowing that we have their backing. Finishing 3rd will be better; our players need some motivation before the season officially ends and the Arrows game is a proper stage for us to thank everyone including our supporters for their huge support with a win,” he concluded.
