It will take us back to the 1st of May 2016 when Bloemfontein Celtic last beat Ajax Cape Town and looking at the precarious situation that both teams find themselves in this Sunday, the game between the two is expected to produce fireworks. Ajax played and won during the week and on the contrary, Celtic played to a goalless draw against Chiefs last Saturday night.

Celtic’s COO Chabeli Motsamai poignantly expressed his concern about the team’s current league standing and explained the significance of winning, “It will be suicidal for us to ignore our league situation. We are now forced to win at all costs, accumulating as many points as we can and subsequently avoiding the dreaded axe at the bottom of the league. Yes, we still have games in hand but that does not guarantee us the points until we win games.”

“I’m glad our team is fully aware of the repercussions of losing points at this crucial stage of the league and the mood has been sublime this week with players wanting to regain confidence through a great display. Our priority for now, will be to gain maximum points and creat a harmonious atmosphere that will allow the team to play without unnecessary pressure in all our remaining games,” Motsamai concluded.
